BROKEN ARROW HIGH SCHOOL SHOW CHOIR
2025-2026
Dear Choir Families,
As we release the results of our recent auditions, I want to take a moment to address something important.
Audition decisions are never made lightly. As choir directors, we are deeply committed to our students and have dedicated our professional lives to nurturing young musicians and building strong, supportive ensembles. Each placement is the result of thoughtful consideration, not only of the audition performance itself but also of the student's growth throughout the year, their interactions with peers, their engagement in class, and their overall contributions to our choir community.
We recognize that auditions can be emotional—for students and families alike. Please know that every decision was made with one goal in mind: to support the educational and musical growth of each student, and to form ensembles that will thrive artistically, academically, and personally.
We also want to strongly encourage every student to remain in the program, even if the results were not what they had hoped. Every choir in our program is essential and offers valuable opportunities for learning, growth, performance, and community. Many students have found that a year in a different ensemble helped them develop new skills, gain confidence, and emerge stronger, more well-rounded musicians. Your place in our choir family is important, and we hope you continue the journey with us.
We believe in every one of our students and value the unique strengths they bring to our program. We look forward to another wonderful year of learning, music-making, and shared experiences.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
Sincerely,
Rosser, Martin, and Taylor

WHO WE ARE
OUR PROGRAM:
The Broken Arrow Vocal Music Program strives each day to achieve musical excellence while encouraging students to explore their individual musical abilities. Each year the program continues to improve and grow, becoming a leading vocal music program in the region. The Vocal Music Program consists of 5 middle schools, 1 Freshman Academy (9th grade), and 1 Senior High School (10th, 11th, and 12th grades). The Senior High School and Freshman Academy have 6 choirs each that meet within the school day. Each middle school site is proud to host a show choir that is open to auditions each year for students in 6th through 8th grades. Our Freshman Academy is home to a 9th grade mixed show choir. Broken Arrow Senior High Show Choirs consist of a varsity mixed choir called Tiger Rhythm and a varsity women's choir called Tiger Mystique. Show choirs are comprised of students who love to sing and dance performing songs from varying genres. Show choirs meet for extra rehearsals throughout the week before and after school. The Tiger Momentum Show Choir (Freshman Academy), Tiger Rhythm & Tiger Mystique Show Choirs (Senior High) have won numerous awards in recent years and continue a long legacy of excellence and prestige. Broken Arrow Show Choirs aim to provide a unique blend of song and dance entertainment while representing our community locally and nationally. The Vocal Music Program also offers several Concert and Select Choirs open to 6th-12th grades. These choirs can be auditioned or non-auditioned depending on the site. The goal of the Select and Concert Choirs is to offer a solid foundation to each student’s music education while allowing performance opportunities to all students. Vocal Music is proud to teach any student who wishes to make music and provide him or her access to knowledge to do just that. All students in the BA Vocal Music Program are given the opportunity to audition for honor choirs throughout the state and nation. In recent years, Broken Arrow has boasted large numbers of participants in the OCDA Junior High All-State Chorus and the OMEA High School All-State Chorus as well as other national honor choirs. These elite honor choirs provide enriching experiences for both teachers and students in the Vocal Music Program. Broken Arrow Senior High School choirs have sang with industry professionals including Kenny Ortega, Kristin Chenoweth, Sandi Patty, and Patti LuPone. They have performed in Carnegie Hall, Ryman Auditorium, and the Genesee Theatre. |
